- When I connect to my Unix workstation, I have to connect through a
- terminal server, and then I telnet to my machine. If I do not
- initiate an 8-bit connection from the terminal server to the workstation,
- sz will hang as you describe.
-
- If you are connecting through a terminal server you should investigate
- methods of establishing an 8-bit connection. My terminal server
- requires "telnet -b machinename" but I have seen other terminal
- servers which have other mechanisms.
-
- Additionally I often have the same problem if I log in through
- a string of machines and then try to initiate a download.
